Bereft

I never had a broken heart until I lost you.
The depth of sorrow is only comparable to the depth of love of God.
It is all-encompassing, everlasting and all I do is speak your name.
I kneel, begging for you to return to me and knowing you cannot.
I grieve your loss in my life, the loss of our future and all that will be missed without your touch or influence.
I am deprived of your voice, your smile, the smell and feel of your skin; the way it was always a little dry and slightly crinkled when I held your hand.
I cry, not because you are gone; because I will get by without you.
