doctorwho: Hello Whovians. Sometimes we look in the mirror and…

Hello Whovians. Sometimes we look in the mirror and wonder…What exactly are Adipose? What are we really made of? What’s with that single tooth and how do we do that whole turning fat into more adipose thing? Also, why are we SO CUTE?

Our friends at Harper Collins heard our confusion and it turns out they have a new book that may answer some of our questions (and many more) called The Scientific Secrets of Doctor Who. This book mixes science with Doctor Who by combining 15 original stories with commentary from leading scientists such as Richard Dawkins, and major science fiction writers such as Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Baxter, and Peter F. Hamilton.

And guess what? We have 10 copies to give away to anyone else who has also been wondering what an Adipose’s body composition is. All you have to do is explain a part of the Doctor Who universe through science. Why are Adipose squishy? How does the sonic screwdriver work? What happens to the Doctor’s body when he regenerates? No one knows the real answer to these things so we want to hear your explanations, no matter how factual or fictional they are.

You can make a text post, edit a photo together in photoshop, record yourself talking about it (or anything you like, really) explaining your Doctor Who science, then post it using the hashtag #ScienceofDW.

(Yes, of course you can draw a picture!)

We’ll choose 10 winners at random after the deadline of June 19th, 2015, so you have plenty of time to get those gears turning. Have fun!

(P.S., we’re so so sorry to people outside of the Fifty States, but this giveaway is only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia.) BBC America’s full terms and conditions can be found here.)

The sonic screw driver is actually a psionic, as in psychic ability, probe that seems to do anything one can think of with tools through sound waves causing the atoms to speed up or slow down and alter, as needed, to get the required effect. I do not entirely understand why it does not work on wood other than the Doctor himself has a mental issue with wood, which would act as a mental block preventing him from actually using the sonic probe on wood.

I am a job seeker. I am looking for a position in a fast pace office setting that is seeking a loyal, dedicated, quick learner who wants to help and improve those around them.

Would love to hear from you!
